John McDonagh - Our People - Dalmore Capital

John co-founded Dalmore in March 2009 and oversees PPP asset management activities. He is a member of the Dalmore Board and serves on the Investment, Executive and Valuations Committees.

John has 30 years of infrastructure experience. Prior to Dalmore, he spent four years at I2, where, alongside Michael Ryan, he led acquisitions and played a key role in managing the investment portfolio. From 2003 to 2005, John was Project Finance Director of Carillion Private Finance, the investment subsidiary of construction services company Carillion plc, where he executed three primary investments in UK PPP projects, served on the boards of nine investee companies, and disposed of two PPP interests to financial investors.

From 2001 to 2003, John was Assistant Director at Banco Espírito Santo in London, where he supported the bank’s financial advisory and lending activity in the UK. Prior to this, he spent five years in the PPP financial advisory team at PricewaterhouseCoopers, advising a range of private sector and government clients.

John began his career as a trainee accountant with Price Waterhouse, working in audit across public sector clients including local and central government and NHS Trusts.

John holds a degree in Economics and is a qualified Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CIPFA).
